    The Shoe Merchant is a family owned and run store providing high quality footwear for women, men and kids.

    Sandy, the Director of The Shoe Merchant has been in shoes since the day he was born as his family opened up their very first shoe store in the same week!

    Shuworx (the previous brand of The Shoe Merchant) was established in Moss Vale in 2008. It was founded with the idea of providing customers with the best comfort, quality brands and styles from around the world.

    In August 2021, we relocated to our new home of Shop 5, 274 Argyle St, Moss Vale (Our shop front is actually on Clarence St!).

    So... you may be wondering why did we change to our new name of The Shoe Merchant?

    Throughout 2020, it was an unusual year for the world. It allowed us time to reflect and consider what our role is in each of the lives of people living in Wingecarribee and beyond.

    We decided that we wanted to represent what we do a little more specifically – bringing quality shoes to the public, our community and our people. 

    As the business has evolved since starting in 2008, it has earned a reputation as a destination for fashionable comfort footwear with the biggest range of orthotic fitting footwear in the Southern Highlands and we wanted to represent that in our branding. 

    So, what has changed? 

    Whilst our branding has changed, our core purpose and passion remains the same. The Shoe Merchant strives to provide great customer service that ensures an easy yet excellent experience each time you shop with us, whether that be in store or on line.

    A little more about our local team

    Growing up around the Southern Highlands area, Sandy is a proud supporter of local businesses and local schools.

    Our friendly team are known for their knowledge and helpful honest advice to make sure that our customers are always satisfied.

    Staff at The Shoe Merchant undergo an extensive fitting program and we continue to support our team to learn on the job. Our team all work closely together to ensure that you and your children get the best fit.
